One of the funds of the US banking giant increased investments in Bitcoin to 1% of all managed assets, through shares of the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust.
In SEC filings for the third quarter of the outgoing year, Morgan Stanley reported 83,803 shares of Grayscale BTC. The shares were purchased in batches in June and April.
B In general, the bank's three main funds increased their share of BTC throughout 2021, and now the total number of GBTC shares amounted to more than 6.6 million worth about $307 million.
Institutional investors are showing keen interest in Bitcoin, and therefore the bank plans to continue the policy increasing the share of military-technical cooperation next year. A team of specialists to study the potential of cryptocurrencies is already being formed by the bank.
In addition, Morgan Stanley is negotiating acquisition of a stake in the Bithumb exchange.
