Morgan Stanley owns over 1 million shares of the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC).
According to a report filed with the SEC, the banking giant is investing millions of dollars in the first cryptocurrency through the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC).
About 30 Morgan Stanley funds own GBTC shares. The largest share of 928,051 securities (over 700 BTC) is managed by Morgan's Insight Fund.
In addition to large GBTC positions, the bank invests in crypto companies. In March, Morgan Stanley began negotiations on acquisition of a stake in the Bithumb exchange, and will offer wealthy clients the opportunity to invest part of the portfolio in Bitcoin funds.
