Crypto startup Blockchain.info became a partner of the UN

Last week, Blockchain.info partnered with the United Nations to jointly explore the use of blockchain technology in various industries. As part of the cooperation, a white paper has already been developed, from which you can learn about the details of future work and how the UN and the crypto startup will interact.

The partnership involves collaboration between Blockchain.info and volunteers from the UN Refugee Agency and the UN Development Program. Moreover, options for cooperation with the World Economic Forum are being considered.

Nick Carey, co-founder of Blockchain.info, will join the UN blockchain development program, which launched in early autumn 2017.

The United Nations considers blockchain technology as one of the tools for possibly countering many pressing problems. An important point is cooperation within the framework of the general Development Program: in the areas of identification, distribution of funds and accounting.

This will help to wisely manage the funds that are annually received in aid to developing countries, but in 30% of cases are spent for other purposes. Representatives of Blockchain.info believe that correct implementation of the terms of the agreement will help correct such situations and ensure that funds go directly to recipients, bypassing unscrupulous intermediaries and are spent only on necessary and pre-agreed activities.

Also, according to Blockchain.info, the partnership will be the first step in explaining how blockchain works directly to UN employees themselves.
