Another Chinese cryptocurrency rating has been released

The China Information Industry Development Center has updated its cryptocurrency rating, which assessed 33 crypto projects. EOS has the highest rating, followed by Ethereum and Bitshares. Bitcoin moved from 10th place to 16th.

On September 20, the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published its fifth cryptocurrency ranking. The ranking assessed 33 cryptocurrency projects based on overall performance and in three separate categories - basic technologies, application and innovation.

If EOS and Ethereum took first and second places in the previous ranking, then the Bitshares cryptocurrency rose to 3rd place from 12th. BTC lost six positions, and BCH fell from 29th to 31st. In the innovation category, Bitcoin tops the list, with EOS coming in third.

CCID released its first ranking in May. Last month, BTC made it into the top ten in the general category for the first time. Since then, some improvements have been made to the evaluation methods, among other things, the evaluation of public blockchain development tools has been classified and refined, and the method of accounting for actual network throughput has been optimized.

The Core Technology category “mainly evaluates the level of technical implementation of a public network and considers the functions, performance, security and decentralization of a public network,” this category makes up 65 percent of the overall ranking. The application category "principally evaluates the comprehensive level of public network support for practical applications, including node deployment, wallet application, application development support, and application implementation," and makes up 20 percent of the overall ranking. The innovation category makes up only 15 percent. This category "focuses on continuous innovation on the public network, including the number of developments, code updates, and the impact of code on network functionality."

Compared to the previous period, the EOS and Ethereum indices decreased by 13.2 and 5.3, respectively, while Bitshares increased by 9.9.
