The Bpay payment system plans to launch ATMs in Moldova where it will be possible to cash out Bitcoin cryptocurrency in Moldovan lei.
The director of the Bpay payment system, Artem Vasiliev, spoke about this. According to him, the company is now negotiating with entrepreneurs about installing ATMs in retail premises.
At the first stage, the company plans to launch three such ATMs. To cash out Bitcoin, the client will have to enter his phone number and receive a PIN code. After entering the PIN code, the system will print a receipt on which a QR code will be printed and a wallet to which the cryptocurrency will need to be transferred.
After six confirmations in the blockchain, the client will receive an SMS message and he will be able to cash out the amount at an ATM. "True, we will have to identify it for the first time. The client will have to come to us and fill out a form," Vasiliev said, adding that this is due to legal requirements.
The money will be issued in Moldovan lei, at the Bitcoin rate on the Bitstamp.net exchange, minus the Bpay commission. Initially, it is planned that only Bitcoin will be cashed out through the ATM, but if there is demand, the company will introduce other cryptocurrencies.
Currently, the ATM is operating in test mode, the administration of the payment system is agreeing to place two more.
