An official representative of the large South Korean service Bithumb announced a partnership with Pay’s, the Korea Times reports. The main goal of the cooperation is to make transactions with digital currencies available to 6,000 retail outlets by the summer of this year. By the end of the year, the partners intend to increase this figure to 80,000.
Moreover, the initiative is supported by almost 200 franchise brands, which will allow customers to make payments through Pay’s.
A Bithumb representative said that this agreement is extremely important for the company. The site will also do everything possible to promote the widespread use of cryptocurrencies. By the way, it is worth noting that the exchange recently became part of one of the largest South Korean hotel platforms that accepts payments in digital currencies.
One of the incentives for such activity on Bithumb may also be the policy of Kakao Corp., whose branch works closely with the UpBit cryptocurrency platform. By the way, the exchange was launched by the developer of the Kakao messenger with the support of the Bittrex exchange.
As it became known, Kakao Corp. is developing a strategy for integrating cryptopayments for 12 thousand retail outlets. On this Kakao Corp. does not stop and intends to introduce payments on its platforms, including KakaoTalk, KakaoPay, KakaoStory and KakaoTaxi.
Well, such changes are quite logical, especially since the practice of other countries has shown their effectiveness. Thus, Australia and Japan have already begun to introduce cryptocurrencies into everyday life: the Japanese can pay for services using digital currencies, and Australians even buy bitcoins at news kiosks (1,200 kiosks across the country sell BTC).
