This week, the Dash platform ran a stress test to see how many transactions the network could handle in 24 hours. The stress test was performed by Delta Engine, the company behind the popular MyDashWallet wallet.
After the test began on Sunday, DASH carried out a total of three million transactions.
The word “Dash” plays on both the concept of “digital cash” and one of the semantic meanings in English denoting speed, swiftness, throw.
This cryptocurrency has once again proven that “whatever you call a yacht, so it will sail.”
The latest test broke the previous DASH record of 464,000 transactions in a day, conducted earlier this year. Three million transactions in a day is a record for most cryptocurrencies in the Bitcoin network.
DASH cryptocurrency is a fork of Bitcoin, that is, it uses the same architecture as Bitcoin, but has several changes and does not have the history of Bitcoin transactions. Many cryptocurrencies are based on this same structure, and this result is a great achievement for DASH.
The previous record was set by Bitcoin Cash (BCH), which completed 2 million transactions in 24 hours during a stress test earlier this year.
It should also be noted that the DASH block size (2 MB) does not limit its performance. This is twice as much as Bitcoin, and the Bitcoin network typically processes 200,000-300,000 transactions per day.
