Privatbank, together with Apple, was the first to launch Apple Pay technology in Ukraine. This was reported by the bank's press service.
Today, May 17, PrivatBank cardholders have the opportunity to use Apple Pay - an easy, secure payment tool that is designed to completely change the field of mobile payments in Ukraine, offering speed and convenience of paying for goods.
Bank clients have updated the Privat24 application, where they now have the opportunity to add a card to Apple. Apple Pay is very easy to set up: a PrivatBank Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card can be connected through the Privat24 or Wallet application. Using Apple Pay, you can pay in stores; to do this, just bring your iPhone to the terminal, after logging in to the service using any of the convenient methods (Touch ID, Face ID or password). In addition, Apple Pay makes it very easy to make purchases in applications and on websites. For in-app or Safari purchases, Apple Pay works on iPhone 6 and later, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and later. You can also use Apple Pay in the Safari browser on any Mac newer than 2012 and running macOS Sierra, with payment confirmation from your iPhone 6 or later, directly from your Apple Watch, or with the swipe of Touch ID on the new MacBook Pro.
Apple Pay is built on security and privacy. When you add a credit or debit card to Apple Pay, the card number itself is not stored on the device or on Apple's servers. Instead, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted and stored securely in the Secure Element chip of the user's device. Each transaction is authorized with a unique one-time secret code.
Apple Pay makes it fast and convenient to pay using your mobile device, while enjoying all the benefits of Visa card payments, including special offers, privileges and high security standards. Today, three-quarters of POS terminals in the country accept contactless payments.
We would like to remind you that the Apple Pay service was first introduced in 2014 in the USA.
In November 2017, Privatbank was also the first in Ukraine to launch Google Pay for smartphones with Android OS. It was followed by Oschadbank and other banks.
