The next few days will be filled with interesting news for people interested in Bitcoin Cash. Two factions have grouped themselves around development teams who have prepared an update that will make BitcoinABC and BitcoinSV incompatible with each other. BitcoinABC is the “main” BCH client and also has the support of the most prominent BCH developers and several exchanges, while BitcoinSV is controlled largely by nChain and Coingeek.
As the conflict developed, the rhetoric on one side, and in particular on the part of the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto - Craig Wright (nChain) changed. He made strange threats regarding hashrate, which apparently began to come to fruition. According to Coin.Dance, over the past few weeks, mining pools owned by Calvin Ayre (Coingeek and SVPool) have begun to control approximately 70% of the hash power in the region.
Recently, the head of Bitcoin.com Rodzher Ver, who has been an ardent supporter of BCH since its inception, released a video on his YouTube channel in which he talked about the crisis of trust in the Bitcoin Cash developer community.
The division of opinions occurred due to incompatible views on the future of cryptocurrency. The BitcoinABC update includes a change known as CTOR (Canonical Transaction Ordering), which changes the way transactions are recorded within a block. It also proposes the integration of a new operating code known as OP_CHECKDATASIG, which allows the use of smart contracts on the BCH platform.
The SV team rejected the changes proposed by ABC.
According to them, the new client was created by nChain at the request of Coingeek, who want to return the cryptocurrency to “the way Satoshi saw it.” They intend to do this by restoring the old opcodes, removing the cap on the number of opcodes per script, and increasing the maximum block size to 128 megabytes.
The two incompatible clients do not have replay protection, meaning that it is unlikely that anyone will think of conducting BCH transactions until the problem is resolved. The hard fork and technical split of the chain will occur on November 15 at 04:40 UTC. However, without replay protection, transactions sent on one blockchain can appear on another - this scenario has caused huge problems for platforms unprepared for the fork.
If Bitmain or other large mining enterprise does not will switch its ASICs from BTC to BitcoinABC, most likely, users will not be able to send and receive BCH.. Exchanges will close withdrawals and deposits until the situation becomes clearer and large wallets like Trezor no longer support ABC.
Thus, you should not miss the opportunity to observe what is happening in the BCH market, since no one really knows how it will all end.
