XMRWallet.com, the company behind the open source Monero wallet for the Tor web browser, announced the project's readiness on Reddit. The post indicates that the demand for such a wallet among XMR users has been quite high for a long time.
Customers can now send and receive what the company claims is a private and untraceable cryptocurrency using Monero's first web wallet for the anonymous Tor network.
Monero (XMR) has long been one of the most preferred cryptocurrencies among Tor users. This wallet address is xmrwalletdatuxds.onion.
onion is a first-level pseudo-domain that is only used for Tor websites. The development team, explaining the name, said: “After much thought, we came to the conclusion that this is the best option of all, and the easiest to remember.”
XMR wallets have previously had difficulty integrating with the Tor browser. According to GitHub, the Monero network did not include integration with Tor, so the developers had to slightly update the network. Graphical User Interface (GUI) wallets for XMR have a similar problem - they require the client to go through several steps to set up a connection to the Tor network.
According to XMRWallet.com, their wallet will make it easier to use all available dark web services. Increasing opportunities for XMR holders on the Tor network could bring many benefits to both XMR and Tor users.
