Ton Weiss: Altcoins can't compete with Bitcoin

In his latest interview, well-known crypto enthusiast Ton Weiss explained why he prefers Bitcoin to altcoins, and also discussed the topic of alternative uses of the blockchain.

First, Ton Weiss explained why he thinks Bitcoin is better than altcoins. Citing Monero as an example, he said:

The not so strong popularity of Monero among crypto users is one factor. The next factor is the developers. Bitcoin developers program at a completely different, high level, which is why it is more reliable than Monero.

He also said that in order to mine, people need to invest in electricity and equipment. According to him, people will not want to invest in a coin like Monero (XMR), which may eventually disappear altogether. In addition, he added that it is impossible to make a profit forever by mining Monero and exchanging it for other currencies. Therefore, the conclusion is:

Bitcoin does not compete with Monero, it does not compete with Litecoin. Bitcoin competes with gold, with the US dollar, with the euro, with special drawing rights (SDRs) issued by the International Monetary Fund.

According to him, Bitcoin and Monero cannot be compared, since Monero competes only with Litecoin, Zcash and other altcoins.

He went on to talk about use cases for blockchain when a physical asset is attached to it. According to him, there is no better use case for blockchain than cryptocurrencies.
