On the website of the digital coin project, the abbreviation VIRT is used, the same abbreviation is used by Virtu to designate its shares on the stock exchange.
In addition, Virtcoin developers released a fake press release with a photo of the Virtu team, which claims that Douglas Chifoo, the chief executive of Virtu Financial, announced that the company would issue a digital coin.
However, Virtu Financial stated that neither the company itself nor its employees have anything to do with the release of the Virtcoin digital coin. In addition, Virtu has notified the relevant authorities of the incident and intends to protect itself and its trademark from any attempts to infringe copyrights and misappropriate the company's intellectual property.
Judging by the website and technical documentation of the digital coin project, it was developed by scammers who are not strong in the English language and use Google translate, or for some reason pretend to be illiterate, since in some places it is difficult to even make out the meaning of the sentences.
