Avalanche is catching up with Ethereum in terms of transaction volume

According to Ava Labs, on January 27, the Avalanche smart contract platform processed 1.1 million transactions, which is about 96% of Ethereum's load.

A promising DeFi project has come very close to the performance of the market leader - Ethereum. However, the average fee per swap transaction in Avalanche is $0.23, compared to $62 in Eth.

By According to DefiLlama, Avalanche is the fifth largest smart contract platform with a total value locked (TVL) of $8.17 billion. By this measure, Avalanche is still far from Ethereum, where more than $100 billion is locked.

According to Messari, Avalanche averaged 475,000 transactions per day in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirera noted:

With such a rapid acquisition of funds and users, Avalanche becomes tempting for pending projects that require EVM compliance.

Ethereum, on the other hand, accumulated an average of 1.25 million transactions daily, and the largest number of pools on the market.
