Ethereum daily emission has become negative

For the first time in Ethereum history, more cryptocurrency was burned in a day than it was issued.

London hard fork led to negative daily Ethereum output.

3 September, the total supply of ETH decreased to 353 coins. During the day, 13,485 ETH were issued, and 13,838 ETH were burned. Every minute 4.56 ETH is withdrawn from circulation.

Although Ethereum mining income managed to grow in August in dollar terms, this occurred mainly due to the increase in the price of ETH and the increase in activity on the network related to the NFT markets.

Buterin proposes limiting the number of Ether coins to 120 million

Vitalik Buterin has written a new proposal that could solve the most basic question of the ethereum network: whether there will be a maximum number of Ether coins that can be created. In a new proposal to improve the Ethereum network, the creator of the cryptocurrency shared his thoughts with developers and users of the software on setting the maximum number of coins at 120,204,432. This is exactly twice as many as were sold during the ICO process in 2014.
