Ethereum hashrate sets a historical record

This Sunday, Ethereum hashrate set a new record.

According to Etherscan, the Ethereum hashrate on Sunday reached 715.4 TH/s. According to OKLink, the hashrate rose to 677.9 TH/s. Both platforms show this to be an all-time high. The previous record was set on May 19 - Etherscan recorded 632.8 TH/s, and OKLink 604.5 TH/s.

Ethereum hashrate has been growing steadily since the end of June. Let us recall that in May the Chinese government issued a warning banning cryptocurrency mining and trading in the country. When miners began to turn off their equipment, the hashrate of Bitcoin and Ethereum collapsed. By today, most of the major Chinese miners are back in business.

According to OKLink senior researcher Eddie Wang, analysts expected the London hard fork to reduce miners' earnings, but due to the high demand for NFTs and DeFi, their income only grew. This attracts new people who want to make money by mining Ethereum.
