A monument to Satoshi was unveiled in Kyiv

The organizer of the event, Satoshi Nakamoto Republic, today gave the people of Kiev the opportunity to join in the beauty and personally see what the most mysterious personality of the crypto world looks like - the Great Satoshi Nakamoto. A mythological character who has become a symbol of society's desire for freedom and decentralization.

The previously announced opening of a virtual monument to Satoshi Nakamoto took place in Kyiv. 

It was “installed” on the site of the former monument to Lenin. Expecting to see Satoshi Nakamoto on a pedestal with someone else's initials, we went to the event with interest.

Upon approaching the place, we discovered that the QR codes for downloading the corresponding application for viewing virtual reality were taped over. They were promised to be shown immediately after the end of the event.

The grand opening began at 13-00, as indicated in announcement of the event, at this time the orchestra solemnly moved from the KMDA towards the installation site of the monument. Led by Father Frost and Harlequin, the procession with flags and streamers moved with a cheerful step to the “Farewell of the Slavic Woman” to the opening site. Later, one of the speakers will joke that the music suggested that Lenin was being resurrected here. 

The first speaker was the organizer of the event, Startup.Network CEO Alexander Soroka.

He said that Kyiv is the first city in which a virtual monument to Satoshi Nakamoto was installed. But we will not remain alone for long: after us, this baton was picked up by Los Angeles, Miami and Switzerland, where virtual monuments to the creator of Bitcoin will be installed this fall and winter.

The organizer also noted that this initiative belongs to the global initiative to create so-called virtual cities in the world, and Kyiv will be the first of them. we can rightfully be proud.

But there was also sad news: unfortunately, not everyone will be able to see the long-awaited monument yet, since the necessary software is supported only by eighteen top devices in the world.

Whether this is a monument or just a fan, we, unfortunately, did not understand. 

If what we saw is the expected monument, then we can say that the specifics of the technology are such that the statue does not “stand” in a certain place, but you can see it by being in the desired radius and pressing the “+” button in a special application..

Following Alexander Soroka, the famous entrepreneur and venture investor Andrey Kolodyuk, the founder of iForum Alexander Olshansky and a number of Bitcoin enthusiasts also took the floor. The guest of honor at the event was a Japanese man named Satoshi, and towards the end we were promised Nakamoto’s wife in person.

She, however, was a little late, and she turned out to be a wonderful singer, who finally performed the composition Bessame Mucho.
