Social network Facebook is releasing three updates that, according to developers, will help users easily “create and save memories”
The social network Facebook has added three new features to its Stories service, cloud storage for photos and videos, voice messages and an archive. This was reported by the Internet portal The Verge.
Cloud storage is a good alternative for developing markets, where large-capacity storage devices are still expensive. It is logical that Facebook held a presentation of new features for its mobile clients in India. Not only does densely populated India speak more than 20 languages, but part of its population is illiterate.
First feature: audio sending of voice messages in “Stories” along with an image, text and stickers. To play them, you can select a background and add text. To add audio, just go to the usual status update window on your phone, where among the usual buttons there is a microphone icon that records voice. There are no restrictions on recording from Facebook itself yet. The clip can be viewed, but cannot be edited.
Changes to the Camera app will allow you to use two of the three new features. Users taking photos or videos with Facebook Camera will be presented with a new option to save content directly to their accounts, avoiding the use of costly local GB on devices with limited storage. Photos and videos saved in the Facebook camera are visible only to the user after logging into his account. The developers do not mention any restrictions on the new storage options.
In the coming weeks, the network says it will begin rolling out a third feature: "enhanced archive" so users can save the Facebook content they value most. It will be possible to upload “stories” to the archive after they are removed from the public feed after 24 hours.
New features are currently undergoing testing and if they prove popular, they will be implemented everywhere. But so far the company has not officially commented on the development of events. Undoubtedly, these updates have potential for Facebook and its advertising companies and can change a lot. Such innovations open up wide opportunities for launching their own micro-podcasts. In addition, this can change all marketing strategies in personal promotion and advertising business.
