Petition against the ban on cryptocurrency trading in South Korea will be considered by the government

A petition against tightening cryptocurrency regulations in South Korea has received more than 215 thousand signatures needed for it to be considered by the government.

The document, dated December 28, is titled: “Has Government Ever Imagined the Dreams of the People?” and accepts votes of support until January 27, but the country's leadership is already thinking about the necessary response. According to the law, 200 thousand votes are enough for official bodies to respond. The response is given 30 days.

Together with the above-mentioned petition, another similar document was created in December last year, demanding the resignation of the head of the Financial Supervision Service, Choi Heung-shik. The official imprudently stated that Bitcoin would burst like a soap bubble, as a result of which his resignation was supported by 37 thousand dissatisfied citizens.

Some citizens even declared their readiness to commit suicide if the bans came into force, the presidential administration clarified that these restrictions are only one of the possible scenarios. And supporters of cryptocurrencies in other countries should learn from the Koreans unity and perseverance in defending their rights.
