According to the press service of the Volyn region prosecutor's office, a search was carried out on the territory of the Lutsk National Technical University, during which equipment for mining cryptocurrency was found and seized.
During the search, computer equipment, storage media, and other mining equipment were found. The entire set of equipment was installed in one of the university’s classrooms.
The prosecutor’s office also clarified that the search was carried out during an investigation into illegal interference in the work of automated systems, computer networks and electronic computers.
At the moment, one of the employees of the educational institution is being checked for involvement in the crime. Moreover, during a search at his place of residence, mining equipment was also found and seized.
We would like to remind you that two weeks ago, during searches in the warehouses of the Kyiv PJSC Kvazar, more than 400 mining farms were discovered, and on the territory of the Boryspil-Airport checkpoint a large batch of equipment was detainedfor the extraction of cryptocurrency, which they tried to smuggle into the country illegally.
