The Verge reports that Telegram has launched the second pre-ICO of its digital currency. Investors who were previously accredited received letters indicating the start of the pre-sale. The company representatives themselves did not comment on the information about the pre-ICO.
The amount of expected revenue is unknown, but there are rumors that the platform hopes to earn at least as much as it earned during the first presale. If everything goes well, Telegram will be able to earn $1.6 billion before the start of the public ICO.
The amount of investment made in the messenger is difficult to determine: Telegram has repeatedly changed the price of the offer due to the high interest in the platform. However, investors who took part in the first pre-sale of the cryptocurrency from Telegram said that the discount on tokens ranged from 30 to 80%. The US Securities and Exchange Commission was able to find out that during the first pre-ICO, Telegram managed to attract $850 million from 81 investors. One of these investors, Yuri Milner, founder of Mail.Ru Group, invested at least $20 million in tokens of the new currency.
Remember that about the launch of its own currency Gram, the owner and founder of the Telegram platform, Pavel Durov, announced at the end of December last year.
