Blockstream and Digital Garage join forces to develop blockchain in Japan

Blockstream announced a new project, DG Lab Fund, a collaboration between two companies, Digital Garage and Daiwa Securities Group. Funding for this project is $80 million

Blockstream, one of the largest cryptocurrency market companies, has expanded its strategic partnership with Japanese IT firm Digital Garage. 

At a press conference, Kaoru Hayashi, CEO of Digital Garage, said that the goal of this project is to promote the development of Blockchain technology in Japan, a country where interest in cryptocurrencies is growing very quickly. 

According to Dr. Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, the Japanese market is now open to new business models that Blockchain can provide. 

At the same time, Blockstream announced a new project, DG Lab Fund, a collaboration between two companies, Digital Garage and Daiwa Securities Group. Funding for this project is $80 million, according to a press release.

DG Lab, in collaboration with Blockstream, will issue local currency using Blockchain technology and will also try to create an over-the-counter cryptocurrency market. 

The Japanese are enthusiastic about using cryptocurrencies, and a large number of companies and institutions have emerged in the country that have begun to explore the use of Blockchain technology for various purposes.
A number of financial institutions, including Bank of Yokohama and Mizuho Financial Group, are testing blockchain to reduce costs for money transfers.
