Post Oak Motor Cars will become the first luxury car distributor in the United States to accept Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
The owner of Post Oak Motor Cars, American businessman Tilman Fertitta, has entered into a partnership with payment service provider BitPay to provide customers with the opportunity to buy cars with cryptocurrency.
According to the press release, the company will accept cryptocurrency from customers around the world. Fertita noted that the company has decided to provide a new payment method to help customers buy their cars “faster and easier.”
Earlier this year, the largest American car manufacturer Ford filed a patent application for a wireless data exchange system between vehicles and road infrastructure, the fee for which will be charged in cryptocurrency.
In early March 2018, Daimler AG, the German manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz and Smart cars, released its own MobiCoin digital currency, which is used as a reward for drivers for environmentally friendly driving.
