Elon Musk named Person of the Year

Elon Musk was named Person of the Year by Time magazine, which called him “a leader in society’s most daring and disruptive transformations.”

According to the magazine, there are few personalities who influence more “on life on Earth and beyond” than Musk.

Musk and SpaceX's notable achievements this year include safely landing a prototype of the massive Starship Mars rocket during a test flight, securing crew access to the International Space Station from the United States via SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule and Falcon 9 rocket, and successfully launching four civilians on a charity orbital spaceflight known as Inspiration4.

In 2022, SpaceX plans to launch a mission to the Moon, funded by Dogecoin. Musk is known to be a big fan of cryptocurrency. He is always ready to support a discussion about the concept of money. In his opinion, cryptocurrencies have their advantages in the monetary system, but he is not sure that they can replace fiat.

Bitcoin will not be able to become a full-fledged currency for payments, but will remain a convenient store of value. Even the jokey Dogecoin is better suited for settlements, due to its fixed emission and low inflation, which will decrease over time and make it possible to spend cryptocurrency.

Musk openly expresses his commitment to cryptocurrencies, but at the same time does not consider his tweets responsible for market volatility.

I do not believe that my tweets affect the movement of markets. It's just humor that I like.

Elon Musk's total fortune today is estimated at $265.4 billion.
