McDonalds is starting an advertising campaign, trying to adhere to modern trends. The MacCoin commercial is clearly aimed at a young audience that is riding on the crest of innovative technologies in the financial sector.
Despite the fact that the world first saw the Big Mac in 1967, it began to be sold in the McDonalds restaurant chain only in 1968, and now the fast food chain is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the creation of the famous burger. In honor of the holiday, the company is launching a series of limited currency called MacCoin. This is not just another cryptocurrency, but a coin that is used for collectible purposes or to exchange for a Big Mac.
In a statement, company representatives said they would distribute 6.2 million MacCoins to establishments in 50 countries. Starting August 2nd until the tokens run out, customers will receive a MacCoin for every Big Mac purchased. If you want to exchange MacCoin for a Big Mac, this option will be available from the second of August.
Each client will be able to receive only one MacCoin per visit. A complete list of countries where the promotion is taking place can be obtained on this page.
The Big Mac has certainly secured its place in history. Because the ingredients used to make this dish are the same everywhere, the Economist magazine created an economic index that uses the price of a burger in different countries to compare the purchasing power of the population. This gave the company the idea of MacCoin.
