Andrew Yang, the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, has registered his independent party and reaffirmed his commitment to digital assets.
For twenty years Young had remained a staunch Democrat, but now he broke that connection and organized an independent party, The Forward Party. Well-known Bitcoin supporter Jeff Booth asked about Young and his party's plans for cryptocurrency.
The politician's answer was quick and unequivocal:
I am a big supporter of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and instead of rising inflation, I want fiat prices to fall against the backdrop of growing efficiency.
Young is known as an entrepreneur who invested $120,000 in the creation of Venture For America (VFA), an accelerator, aimed at creating new startups in developing cities. His platform within the Democratic Party strongly supported various social and financial initiatives, such as Universal Basic Income (UBI) and Medicare for All. Moreover, his team has always actively supported the introduction of Bitcoin into the financial system.
Participating in the presidential election last year, Young advocated for the introduction of regulation of digital assets in the country and the legalization of the cryptocurrency market. His presidential campaign was supported by Elon Musk.
