New York will launch its own digital currency

NYCCoin is set to launch on November 11th. The cryptocurrency was developed by CityCoins, which released MiamiCoin. The project uses the Stacks protocol, built on the Bitcoin blockchain.

On November 8, newly elected New York City Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the news on Twitter, saying that “the city will use technology and innovation to move forward.”



Adams was elected mayor of New York on November 2. The new mayor will take office at the beginning of 2022. The Democrat is a longtime supporter of cryptocurrencies and has already announced that he will receive his first three salaries in Bitcoin.
