Known to many as "Satoshi Nakamoto", as he proclaimed himself in May 2016, Craig Wright, received a lawsuit in the amount of $10 billion in the BTC. The lawsuit was filed Feb. 14 in Florida District Court on behalf of computer programmer and cybersecurity expert Dave Kleiman, by his brother Ir. Kleiman.
Dave Kleiman himself died in 2013 from staphylococcus, and his role in the development of Bitcoin began to be talked about in 2015, when Gizmodo and Wired began to rank Kleiman as one of the creators of the digital currency.
As for Craig Wright, he currently supports Bitcoin Cash and is the chief scientist at nChain. The crypto community is skeptical about his self-proclamation as the creator of Bitcoin. Wright merely stated that he was Satoshi Nakamoto, but did not provide direct evidence.
As for the lawsuit, the Australian businessman is accused of carrying out a “scheme against Dave Kleiman in order to appropriate his digital currency and intellectual property rights associated with Bitcoin technology.”
Wright is accused of concluding agreements under which Dave Kleiman’s capital passed under the complete control of Wright. The latter allegedly signed these agreements retroactively, and forged Kleiman’s signature.
In addition to the accusations, a number of evidence are attached to the complaint. One of them is the registration of the company W & K Info Defense Research LLC, in which Kleiman and Wright were business partners.
In addition to the 1.1 million BTC, Wright will have to pay compensation for intellectual property between him and Kleiman.
Craig Wright reacted to this news with only one word on his Twitter: “Greed.”
It is worth noting that the lawsuit does not indicate exactly who exactly is the creator of Bitcoin. But the fact that Wright and Kleiman were involved in digital currency from an early period and managed to accumulate a huge amount of BTC cannot be denied.
