Tesla breaks $1 trillion market cap

Tesla's market valuation has surpassed the $1 trillion mark 11 years after the company went public.

Tesla now joins Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google, each with a market capitalization of more than $1 trillion.

Shares rose Monday on several news releases. One of the main ones - the oldest car rental company Hertz decided to buy 100,000 electric vehicles for its fleet. Thanks to this news, Tesla shares exceeded $1,000 for the first time in history.

In addition, the Tesla Model 3 took first place in sales in Europe last month, overtaking models with internal combustion engines.

Elon Musk's own fortune exceeded $250 billion.
