New investment tool from Circle

Circle takes on the power of Coinbase and Abra with the new Circle Invest app on Android and iOS devices. New thematic “Collections” provide users with industry-specific investment packages.

Circle Invest has announced the launch of a new investment product called Collections, which allows users to invest in cryptocurrency indices that are sorted by asset features.

According to an official statement from Circle, it has launched three capital-restricted portfolios, including Platforms, Payments and Privacy, which are now available for investment. The new feature builds on Circle's original Buy the Market option, which allows investors to automatically diversify their holdings across multiple digital currencies with the click of a button.

Given that Circle only supports 11 digital currencies, the collections are quite simple.

The payments collection includes Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Stellar (XLM) and Litecoin (LTC), while the privacy collection only contains Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC). In addition, additional background information on the coins offered can be found in the app.

The release of Circle collections comes just a day after Abra, an all-in-one online cryptocurrency wallet and exchange, launched support for the new BIT10 token, which tracks an index of the largest cryptocurrencies in terms of capitalization. Abra's single investment tool allowed users to cover approximately 85% of the entire cryptocurrency market.

The leader in the field, Coinbase, also recently released a similar retail index product Coinbase Bundle, a market-focused selection of five crypto assets available for purchase for as little as $25 US

With simplicity being the king when it comes to choosing a cryptocurrency investment vehicle, competing retail-focused investment platforms will continue to push the trend of simplifying and lowering the barriers to crypto investing.
