Intel will release its own ASIC

The largest chip manufacturer Intel is entering the cryptomining market with a new revolutionary chip.

On February 23, at the ISSCC conference, technology giant Intel will present its new Bonanza Mine processor. So far, few details are known about the new product. All information will be provided at the presentation. The company announced its product as a high-performance ASIC miner that consumes extremely little power.

Intel patented a SHA-256 cryptographic data processing system for Bitcoin mining back in 2018. Given its extensive experience in developing silicon chips and hardware algorithms, Intel can compete in the mining hardware market with the industry's largest players.

The company noted that the new chip will be completely separate from graphics processing units (GPUs), which are designed for graphics and games.
