Nvidia is trying to limit sales of its video cards to miners

The largest American company NVIDIA, being the largest developer of graphics accelerators and processors, asked retailers to take measures to ensure that the company's products fall into the hands of gamers, and not cryptocurrency miners

This request is due to the increased demand for graphics processors and the resulting shortage in the market, provoked by a stunning increase in the prices of digital currencies.

Nvidia is trying to protect gamers and limit sales of video cards for use in mining. An analysis of graphics card sales over the past month in Germany found that four out of six retailers have placed strict restrictions on Nvidia's GeForce brand. Buyers engaged in mining usually buy several video cards at once, so retail outlets have introduced restrictions and sell 2-3 pieces per person.

Miners have begun to push gamers out of the GPU market. Large mining farms source large quantities of GPUs directly from factories in China before they can even enter the market. And smaller professional miners are buying up the cards from hundreds of retail stores or online, driving up the price and keeping them out of reach of gamers.

“For NVIDIA, gamers come first. All activities related to our Geforce product line are aimed at our core audience. To ensure that gamers will still be able to use a good Geforce graphics card in the current situation, we recommend that our retail partners take appropriate measures to meet the needs of gamers first,” Nvidia spokesman Boris Böhles told a German tech publication. However, Nvidia emphasizes that retail outlets are not required to strictly follow the company's recommendations, as the manufacturer does not want to interfere with freedom and independence of traders.
