As DW reports, at the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics, which is located in the Nizhny Novgorod region, several employees were detained for mining cryptocurrencies on powerful office computers.
The number of detainees is still unknown.
According to the press center of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center in Sarov, the violators have been detained and a criminal case has been initiated.
According to the Center’s speaker Tatyana Zalesskaya, this is not the first attempt at illegal mining on the territory of large Russian companies. The specialist also clarified that any illegal activity related to cryptocurrency mining will be strictly suppressed. Moreover, it carries criminal liability.
We would like to remind you that similar situations are observed in other countries of the post-Soviet space. We wrote that last week at Lutsk University one of the employees was detained who was trying to engage in mining on the territory of the educational institution.
