One of the oldest American comic book publishers, DC Comics, has announced its first collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which will feature its main characters.
The comic book publisher has announced its biggest ever NFT giveaway to participants at its October virtual fan event for DC fans.
DC fans will be able to get at least two of the three NFT collectibles. Registration for FanDome 2021 will unlock the first free NFT, and posting about the event on social media will unlock the second NFT. The collection consists of various images oflegendary superheroes and supervillains, with three levels of rarityfor each character.
DC Director Jim Lee noted:
It was challenging to translate and adapt these classic covers into a 21st century format such as NFTs. This release pays tribute to our 87-year history by visualizing a future in which NFTs play a fundamental role.
A new line of NFTs, created in conjunction with Palm NFT Studio, will be available starting October 5th for FanDome 2021 registrants.
