Payments company Visa on Monday announced the purchase of the CryptoPunk 7610 NFT.
Last week, Visa bought CryptoPunk 7610 for $150,000. CryptoPunks is a collection of NFTs featuring pixelated portraits.
According to Visa's head of cryptocurrency, the company acquired the NFT because “CryptoPunks were pioneers of NFT technology.” According to him, the decision to buy an NFT was no longer about buying a picture, but about paying tribute to a historical NFT project.
