Recently, a rather controversial, but valid, opinion was expressed that within five years Bitcoin will cede 50% of its market share to Ethereum
So says influential technology expert and business analyst Ian Macloed, founder of Thomas Crown Art, the world's leading technology art agency. McLoed supports the Ethereum cryptocurrency, which ranks second in the world by market capitalization.
On Friday, the price of Ethereum began to recover, despite significant recent sell-offs. The price of Bitcoin has also experienced difficult times and has risen faster than its competitor's price.
Ethereum has lost almost 85 percent this year. The price was up 14 percent this Friday, but has fallen again by 10 percent in the last 24 hours.
Mr. McLoed notes:
Fluctuations are common, and sometimes even desirable, in the crypto space, so a recovery in Ethereum was inevitable. We think the price will rise significantly before the end of this year, and in five years Ethereum will take 50% of the market share from Bitcoin. Ethereum offers more features and solutions than Bitcoin, so it will cost more.
