The founder of Ethereum is tired of the immaturity of the cryptocurrency community

Vitalik Buterin on his Twitter page expressed his intention to leave the project if the crypto community does not change its consumer attitude towards blockchain and digital technologies

The founder of Ethereum is not satisfied with the situation that is happening around Bitcoin, Ethereum and other virtual currencies. Vitalik Buterin believes that cryptography should benefit society, and not just perform the function of cryptocurrencies. He emphasized that people need to understand the difference between the positive changes that new technologies bring and simply moving a lot of money.

According to Buterin, all the energy is wasted on luxury, luxury cars and inappropriate jokes. And if things don’t change, he warned that he would quit the case.

The cryptocurrency market simply exploded in 2017 with $18 billion exceeded $560 billion. The leading positions were taken by Bitcoin and Ethereum. The cost of the latter has increased by more than 8.5% since the beginning of the year. In addition, leading cryptocurrencies served as the basis for the emergence of many other digital coins. A huge number of worthy startups have gone beyond the traditional financial system and were able to attract capital for their projects by organizing ICOs.

Despite seemingly significant achievements cryptocurrencies, the creator of Ethereum doubts the viability of such benefits. “Did we make all this money?”, “How many unbanked people did we give access to financial instruments?”, “Did we give ordinary people the opportunity to do business free from government control?”, “How many truly useful blockchain applications did we give people?” Huge exchange rates and the cost of cryptocurrency distract the community from truly useful and important applications.

By asking such questions, Vitalik Buterin wants to draw the attention of the crypto community to the ineffective use of blockchain technology. Think about real benefits and truly useful developments. And if people do not change their attitude towards the problem that has arisen, Buterin intends to leave.
