Chinese firewall blocked CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko

Chinese firewall blocked CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko

Two of the most popular sites for tracking crypto asset prices are now unavailable to users in China.

According to Greatfire.org, both sites are completely blocked by the Chinese firewall.

CoinMarketCap representatives said they had no comments or information regarding the reasons for the blocking.

Users from China can still access crypto services using a VPN. The ban on cryptocurrencies is one of the reasons why VPN popularity is growing in the country. Many administrators of cryptocurrency channels in the Chinese WeChat application either changed the names of the groups or switched to Telegram.
