Roskomnadzor continues to fight Google for “content purity” and threatens new fines for untimely removal of prohibited information.
This year, Google LLC received 16 administrative protocols worth more than 32 million rubles for publication of materials that do not comply with Russian legislation.
Roskomnadzor issued another protocol to the video hosting YouTube, owned by Google, for ignoring the requirements for monitoring and removing content prohibited by law. The department counted 24 thousand such “threatening” materials.
The amount of the fine will be determined at a court hearing, and can range from 5% to 10% of the company’s annual turnover in Russia. Last year, Google received 85 billion rubles from all its legal entities in Russian territory.
