Zelensky vetoed the law “On virtual assets”

The Law “On Virtual Assets,” adopted by Ukrainian deputies early last month, was returned by the President for reconsideration.

Ukraine will not be able to implement the provisions of the adopted law regulating the legal cryptocurrency market due to a lack of budget funds. President, Vladimir Zelensky vetoed law and made its amendments for a second vote by deputies.

The law adopted on September 8 provides for the formation of a new department to regulate the legal circulation of virtual assets in the country. The creation of a new power structure involves the expenditure of public funds that are not provided for in the budget. The President invites deputies to vote for the transfer of the crypto industry to the control of the existing National Securities and Stock Market Commission, without creating a new special agency.
