Student hackers received two years in prison with a probationary period of one year for distributing virus software. The verdict of the Kharkov court comes into force upon the expiration of the period for appeal.

The students were detained by law enforcement officers after selling a virus program to residents of Kharkov. During the trial, the hackers fully admitted their guilt.

Recently, the capital's prosecutor's office and the National Police of Ukraine detained brothers suspected of kidnapping a miner and stealing $50,000 from him in the spring of this year.
