Deutsche Börse AG, the world's largest exchange organization, is exploring the possibility of using blockchain technology in its activities.
One of the specialists from Deutsche Börse AG, Jeffrey Tessler, announced his intention to study the cryptocurrency market at the summit of the Association of Financial Markets in Europe (AFME). In his speech, the company's director of customer relations noted that before introducing a new technology, the company strives to fully study all aspects.
“Before we use something like Bitcoin, we need to make sure that we understand the principles of operation that underlie the protocols, and this is not easy,” Tessler said.
Deutsche Börse AG is concerned about high market volatility and unresolved issues regarding the regulation of cryptocurrencies, according to Jeffrey Tessler.
“We want to analyze volatility and make sure that clients are interested in cryptocurrencies, and also make sure that global regulators have come to a common opinion.”.
Despite the fact that CME Group and Cboe Global Markets has already launched Bitcoin futures on its exchanges, Deutsche Börse AG is more cautious about this instrument and plans to comprehensively assess the risks.
