Today, August 1, EOS trading starts on the Poloniex exchange. This is the first token selected for listing using the Circle Asset Framework's cross-product prioritization tool.
Almost a month ago, Blockchain company Circle published information about how it would select cryptocurrencies for its trading and investment platforms. The company introduced Circle Asset Framework, a tool for prioritizing various products. The published list of criteria for selecting assets for listing on the Poloniex exchange and the Circle Invest and Circle Trade platforms covers five different categories. The criteria include the basics of the project, the technology behind the token, the people behind the project, the business model used and the available market.
Based on analysis of the Circle Asset Framework, the company announced the addition of a new asset to the Poloniex family: EOS.
Currently, EOS deposits and withdrawals are in real time, and trading in EOS/USDT, EOS/BTC and EOS/ETH pairs will be enabled today, 1 August.
The open source Blockchain protocol, EOS, was developed by Block.one. The EOS smart contract platform is built with scalability, performance, and self-governance in mind, and provides developers with a platform on which common purpose, decentralized applications can be built. EOS Points provide access to bandwidth and storage on the decentralized EOS operating system. Following the token sale for the EOS ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, EOS has been living on its own blockchain since June 14, 2018.
The Circle team states that Poloniex supports the new EOS network tokens and will not accept ERC-20 deposits or provide conversion to mainnet tokens. Additionally, the company has no plans to support EOS airdrops at this time.
Circle acquiredone of the largest exchanges in North America, Poloniex, almost half a year ago and has since been improving the core product along with improving the trading performance of the platform. The company focused on solving problems that Poloniex had previously faced. Circle is now investing in expanding Poloniex's listing.
