Azerbaijan is mastering blockchain

Yesterday, Lenovo Global Technology Russia and the CIS and Azintelecom presented the first corporate blockchain platform. The state telecommunications company Azerbaijan International Telecom (AzInTelecom) is switching to blockchain data storage systems.

The positive dynamics of the development of the crypto industry in Azerbaijan can be seen throughout the year. The country has allowed the free use of cryptocurrencies and is preparing to include them in the legal environment. In the spring, the Center for the Study and Development of the Market of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Technologies was created. It is natural that the integration of blockchain technology under such favorable conditions is proceeding at an accelerated pace. 

The company specializes in international traffic exchange, certification of telecommunications equipment, provision of services in the field of data centers and owns a large local telecom operator Azercell. The desire for improvement and innovation led the company to the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) this summer, and now to the implementation of a blockchain project in collaboration with Lenovo.

 Active cooperation with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, where Lenovo is implementing identification systems, has already proven the company's professionalism, and a technology partnership with Nutanix has allowed for the creation of a unique high-tech project.

 A project that has already been implemented jointly with the Nutanix platform is a data center in the largest medical center in Azerbaijan, which was opened in the spring of this year.  

Two months ago, the Information Technology Department of the Central Bank presented its program for the digital transformation of the Azerbaijani economy for the next five years. The large-scale program involves focusing on two main sectors: economic and banking. A dozen commercial banks and fifteen government agencies have already joined the program.
