Just weeks after acquiring peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing network, the Tron Foundation [TRX] selected BitTorrent Inc. one of the community representatives, the so-called Super Representative (SR).
Blockchain entrepreneur and creator of the Tron platform, Justin Sun, has announced his official selection as one of 27 different organizations that participate in the management of the project.
Super Representatives act as curators and guardians of the TRON network. Different SR teams support different areas from network updates to security module approvals. The BitTorrent team is responsible for creating BitTorrent for desktop and mobile devices. She will work closely with other super representatives to create a decentralized internet where developers can build blockchain-based applications, leaving no room for centralized tech giants.
The TRON Network Super Representatives are rewarded for their governance efforts, each receiving 32 TRX per block produced by the TRON public traffic network. Given that the TRX block creation rate is 1 second, each Super Representative will receive 2,764,800 TRX per day. At current prices, that's about $51,000 per day.
TRON Foundation completed its $126 million acquisition of BitTorrent at the end of July. Justin Sun plans to combine elements of the file sharing protocol and blockchain technology. Together, the two groups plan to merge teams and further pursue their goal of creating a unique, fully decentralized Internet ecosystem.
In previous statements, TRON has emphasized how well suited BitTorrent is as a Super Representative. BitTorrent is perhaps the most qualified super presenter, as it uses a vast infrastructure to support a huge worldwide user base, and its team consists of the most experienced specialists in decentralized protocols.
