DISH Begins Accepting Payments in Bitcoin Cash

DISH, the first pay TV provider, announced the addition of Bitcoin Cash as a payment option and the transition to BitPay, the largest payment card provider, as the payment processor for cryptocurrency transactions.

Today, DISH is the largest participant in the satellite television market. With last year's revenue of $14 billion and 13.7 million customers, the company is constantly striving to improve the service for users who prefer an innovative payment method.

At one time, DISH became the first large company to decide to accept payments in Bitcoin. Since then, the volume of clients paying for services in cryptocurrency has been constantly growing. That's why the company decided to add Bitcoin Cash and is switching from its previous payment provider to BitPay.

DISH customers can use Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash to pay for monthly subscriptions to commercial programs or for one-time paid viewing of movies and news.

Having offices all over the world, the company uses international payments. As a push transaction, the DISH client sends the exact amount of Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash needed for one-time payments to mydish.com or the DHD registrar. Using blockchain technology makes payment instant and cheap. BitPay exchanges digital currency for US dollars at the time of transaction without the risk of cryptocurrency volatility. To do this, clients just need to go to the DISH web resource and use the BitPay wallet.

The TV provider believes that crypto assets are becoming an increasingly popular way for consumers to make online purchases as it reduces payment costs and the risk of credit card fraud.

DISH Network Corporation has been developing commercial TV since 1980, driving innovation and offering services to consumers. Through its subsidiaries, the provider provides television entertainment to millions of customers with satellite DISH TV and Sling TV streaming services. DISH utilizes an advertising sales team that offers targeted advertising solutions on DISH TV and Sling TV. In addition to its television services, DISH has begun building a national Internet of Things network.
