The Audi Think Tank and the IOTA Foundation completed a joint project and shared the results at an event in Ingolstadt and Berlin.
Audi worked to solve problems in the automotive space through expert interviews and research, while the IOTA Foundation team worked on technical support solutions, modeling business structure and product use cases.
The project was an attempt by both organizations to figure out what practical solutions they could take in the automotive and IoT industries. An important focus was identifying use cases for Tangle in the industry.
IOTA is dedicated to facilitating transactions between devices on the Internet of Things (IoT). The company processes transactions without a blockchain, so there is no central ledger or miners on its network. Devices on the network randomly verify each other's transactions through the IOTA Tangle.
Audi has invested €14 billion in self-driving electric vehicles and intends to use IOTA for the future of automation.
