Opera Software has announced the release of new software for the Android browser, which has a built-in cryptocurrency wallet and support for the Ethereum Web3 API. The browser is currently available in private beta, and the company is inviting people to take part in testing.
According to the blog post, you can now conduct cryptocurrency transactions on your Android mobile devices without the need to download a separate extension. The developers are confident that 322 million users will appreciate the convenience and ease of use of the built-in cryptocurrency wallet.
Users can also use the new version of Opera to access decentralized applications (dApps), the popular CryptoKitties or AirSwap. In addition, Ethereum support provides easy access to ETH storage and supports ERC-20 and ERC-721 token standards. The company is confident that the transition to a decentralized network is the future of the Internet and is already introducing technologies that facilitate such a transition. The presented version currently supports only Ethereum and is the largest community of developers creating dapps on the Ethereum network, but in the future it plans to add other crypto-assets.
Opera with Crypto Wallet supports the Ethereum Web3 API, which allows you to interact with dapp files without problems for the user. Users will have an environment for running decentralized applications of the Ethereum network along with a fully centralized Web 2.0.
Online payments using cryptocurrency are simplified as much as possible. Users who choose to pay for their order using cryptocurrency from Coinbase Commerce-enabled merchants will be presented with a payment request dialog. The payment will then be signed and transmitted directly from the browser to confirm transactions. There's no need to remember or enter PINs or passwords, thanks to Android's built-in security mechanisms. The company hopes that such simplicity and ease of use of online payments will open up new opportunities.
The Opera browser has repeatedly taken the initiative to expand crypto capabilities through its browser. At the beginning of this year, the anti-mining protection function was introduced into the mobile version of the web browser.
