The maximum block size on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain is 32 MB, which is significantly larger than the block size of most modern blockchain networks. This large block size will increase BCH throughput. Until May of this year, the BCH blockchain consisted of 8 MB blocks. Now community members want to test the network by sending a huge number of transactions on the BCH blockchain over a 24-hour period.
To help the BCH Stress Test Day (BCHSTD) project, the Spendbch.io team launched an open source node.js application. This application was created using the Bitbox toolkit, and the team states that “this protocol is a starting point” for application creators and testers.
“BCH stress test is a concept application that can be used as a starting point for applying for a test reward,” explains developer Spendbch.io. According to BCHSTD coordinators, the experiment will begin on September 1.
Gabriel Cardona, creator of Bitbox.earth, and many other crypto enthusiasts share their impressions of noticeable jumps in the number of BCH transactions.
“Bitcoin Cash transactions have increased sharply since yesterday. If you want to participate, join the stress test to prove to the world that our network scales perfectly,” wrote Cardona on Twitter.
The BCH stress test tool can be found in the public Github repository.
