Bitcoin scholarship?

To attract the best students in Bulgaria, Varna University of Management is offering Bitcoin scholarships for students in the Bachelor's program in Software Engineering in the 2018 academic year.

The Bulgarian University of Management in Varna (VUM) plans to provide 10 students who apply for funding with scholarships in Bitcoin equivalent to 1000 euros at the time of admission.  During the selection of candidates, their recommendations, academic achievements and independent programming skills will be taken into account.

The university administration is confident that the future belongs to cryptocurrencies, and they will inevitably change all aspects of life in modern society. Approval and use of Bitcoin - a conscious choice of the University of Varna.

In addition to scholarships paid in bitcoins, they are also accepted as payment for tuition and accommodation in a dormitory.

Modules for in-depth study of blockchain technology and digital assets have been added to the faculties of programming and business information systems. Now they are required for obtaining a bachelor's degree in software development.

Thanks to its decision, VUM has joined the list of universities that accept it. Bitcoin - includes the University of Cumbria, ESMT Berlin Business School, King's College New York and the University of Nicosia.
