Mexican President Rejects Bitcoin Adoption

Andrés Manuel López Obrador has strongly rejected the idea of ​​Bitcoin becoming legal tender in the country.

During a press conference on October 14, López Obrador said that his administration is not particularly willing to innovate the financial system.


We believe that we should adhere to the orthodoxy in financial management.

He said that Mexico will not invest in Bitcoin or use it as a reserve currency. 


Recall that the CEO of BitMEX predicted that by the end of 2022 at least 5 countries will accept Bitcoin as legal tender.
